Request asked for Lithuania and fem-Poland, dealing with pregnancy, in any form. This is possibly the most depressing response imaginable.

"Pan Rzeczpospolita?"
Lithuania looks up. Adam is watching him with an expression of faint concern. He quite likes Adam - Adam Kazimierz Czartoryski, a thoughtful man with good taste, who he hopes will make a good king. Someday. As soon as Augustus gets around to dying, as he really should hurry up and do, and is that a treacherous thought? Probably. He doesn't much care right now, though. "Hello," he mumbles, and tries not to look as tired as he feels. It's mid-afternoon, and the library is bathed in light. "Is something the matter?"
"I had no special cause to seek you out, if that's what you mean. I was suprised to see you here." An uncomfortable pause. "You don't look well."

The book is in French, Lithuania notes, as he opens it up and squints at it. Adam is always giving him books. Sometimes he enjoys them, sometimes he want to throw them across the room, but they all make him think, which he thinks is the point. "An understandable conclusion, from the mess we've made of civilization," he says

It's long past dark when Lithuania returns home - almost past midnight. The roads are muddy with the misty rain, and he leaves his shoes in the kitchen. All is dark and silent. Belarus will have put Courland to bed long since, and she tends to retire early herself. Poland sits up recklessly late with her books, but her window was unlit as he approached

Anon, this is beautiful and I love the direction you've taken it. The characterizations are great, and the atmosphere of creeping unhappiness is really nicely done.

In the thin morning light Poland looks young. She's managed to steal the blankets, of course, but instead of being sprawled out and wrapped in them she hugs the thick bundle close to her chest. Lithuania touches her swollen breast, and she gasps and kicks in her sleep, catching him squarely on the shin. Of course. She's always been like this. He tosses his remaining covers back and slips out; the chill wavers close to his bones and makes his bare feet twitch, and Lithuania wonders whether he should light a fire, but no - he'll be gone soon enough, and Poland's more sensitive to heat than cold, especially right now. Besides, she has all the blankets. She's been stealing blankets since their very first night together.
She was young then, in the way of their kind, hundreds of years young. She looked barely older than her king, and they wore the same cut of dress, Lithuania remembers that. Poland took his hands in her own and smiled, and if her hands were trembling, he made no remark on the matter, any more than she spoke of the

Yay! An update!
Lithuania was tall enough to tuck her head under his chin while he was still buried inside her *BLUSH* You know, Liet, I'm kinda short too... and I really really like you... *BLUSH*
Ha. I almost forgot that everyone including her thought Hungary was a boy. Good job remembering the time period. And also for remembering that even if Jadwiga was a girl, she was still a king.
Keep up the good work! My goodness, I love these two to bits. ^__^

I love the intriguing complexity woven into the story the most, of tenderness and bitterness and joy and despair. Lithuania's voice strikes a very tragic chord and I don't think I've ever seen him so very- human. He's tired and cynical but so very loving, already worn down by the world. And yet, the love he has for Poland is so very bittersweet and conflicted, with resentment and affection constantly clashing. I have to say that this is the most brilliant characterization of him I've ever found and I adore it.

[And I just now notice I typoed the title, arrgh. 'the ferris', captcha? Well, Liet could probably use a day off, I grant ... Thanks to all the commentors; the next bit should be a little faster.]Belarus and Courland are already eating breakfast, hot oatmeal with sugar. The kitchen feels empty with only three people in it. Lithuania ladles himself a bowlful and sits down between them, ruffling Courland's hair. "Good morning

Lithuania clenches his fists and is glad he left his sabre in his bedroom. The silence stretches between them, dark and inviting, begging for the words that would turn their perpetual ceasefire to blows. But it's Courland who fills it, voice cracking. "P-please don't fight," he says, and stares at the dregs of his oatmeal instead of at them. "Please. Wuh - we have enough to worry about. Russia l-likes it when we fight

Awww, I feel so bad for Liet-chan. The commonwealth is in decline and there are so many internal problems... He loves Poland, but can't stop himself from thinking treacherous thoughts.
I loved when you wrote that Brandenberg was like a prince taking the heroine away because the genders are switched. Just like Hetalia to smash gender stereotypes. ^__^
