this is just the prologue, the rest will come. I think it's going to be a long fic, because the prompt was terribly interesting but will take a bit to manage.

America/Italy. They are frustrated with how things are stagnant with UK and Germany, they speak about it, start spending time together and end up falling for each other (refer to the prompt for more info).America let out an exaggerated huff as he walked down the street, not knowing where he was going; it had been a tiring day, what with all those reports to go through, and then having to do that long speech about being the hero and saving the world again -the other Nations never did anything on their own, they were so uncooperative!- and he was terribly tired ( ... )

It's interesting to see how Italy and America are feeling the same about their relationships with Germany/England. And somehow I can't blame them for being so frustrated with the other to...I especially wanted to hug Italy.

I mean, you can't judge a book by it's cover :3

heh, it's a crack pairing but i like to work through the details and make it feel like it could happen :3 glad you like it :D and do hug italy, he's too cute not to X3

Oh, man. I am loving this so far! I seriously cannot wait for more. Poor Feliciano...and poor Alfred, too. I imagine I'd get sick of fighting after a while, too.

another short chapter, just as promised. i'm also happily announcing that next chapter will be way longer. XDAmerica kicked a pebble, watching it roll and roll and roll, then kicked it again, repeating the process like a broken record playing over and over, and his mind easily wandered, thinking about how pebbles came to be (and if there was a huge man cutting huge stones with a hammer to make pebbles for streets ( ... )

“Say, I always thought your relationship with Germany was perfect… I’ve been quite… envious of you two” America stated. It was the truth, but he hadn’t liked to say that aloud. To be jealous was not the right attitude for a hero, after all.

“Eh~ actually… I was a bit jealous that you and Arthur could understand each other so well…?”

They stared at each other in wonder.

“We always fight” America stated, frowning.

“Germany ignores me~”

“England prefers his non-existing unicorns to my company”.

“Germany prefers wurst to mine ( ... )

aww... this fill is so cute!

can't wait to read more. I never thought about us/italy as a pairing before, but you're actually making it believable and really adorable.

This chapter put a big smile on my face, if only because both America and Italy are such dorks [for the lack of better words]

How you had them finally confide in each other seemed really likely too! It just sort of happened. That and it was amusing how similar their problems were [and how they were both jealous of each other] :)
