Prussia as a grammar nazi. I hope this is what the OP wanted and not absolute shite. Anon is a bit of a grammar nazi herself so she couldn't pass this up. I love the idea of Germany being as confused about the reform as the rest of the population. :P I had a good chuckle at the image of Prussia as a teacher, too.

Two nitpicks: "Brüder" is plural, it should be "Bruder". There are also some cases where a comma before "und" is appropriate, even after the reform.

Ahh, I was just going off of what my German prof told me in class, but that's good to know, thanks! Obviously I need to study more. XD

Hehe, it's rare enough. The only example I can think of right now is when a dependent clause cuts into a list. For example in "Ludwig, mein Brüderchen, und viele seiner Leute sprechen nicht annähernd so gut Deutsch wie meine Großartigkeit."

If you drop the comma before the und there, the meaning changes significantly.

And now I'm not sure if that full stop goes inside the quotation marks or outside... daaaarnit.

I see how the meaning could change there. It's probably not something that 3rd year students of the language would use, which is probably why my prof didn't say anything about it.

The irony of making grammatical errors in a fic about grammatical errors is not lost on me, haha.

Also, that sentence made me giggle. I think it's in the right place...

This anon would like to thank you for writing this EPIC WIN and giving me a pleasant mental image of teacher-mode!Prussia. ... Which is more hot an image than should probably be. Damn, I'd be on top of my German (pun not intended, ha ha) if a guy like him would teach me.

Speaking of learning German, anon has to rush for her lesson now. XD
