If the sky wasn’t so overcast, the sun would have been setting. The clouds cover everything now. Matt hasn’t seen the sun in weeks. He doesn’t even care, only he thinks it would be fitting if there were dying rays of sunlight or something. This should be an epic moment, after all.

“Tabarnak!” he can hear himself yelling

It had been fifteen years since Alfred Jones died under a sunless sky during the final days of a bitter war. Matt was different now. They all were. The first few chaotic years afterwards had finally settled into a quiet peace as the world healed itself. Empty chairs at meetings slowly filled with new faces, though the missing ones weighed heavily on everyone
