America is overworked, overstressed, and overtired and unable to sleep discovers that Russia is a great sleeping aid.

With permission of the OP I took up this request and merged it with a fic I had already been working on at the time with a similar theme to it (Hetalia Hive Mind strikes again) so this is slightly altered from the original request in that it's America himself that discovers that Russia is a good sleep aid instead of the others figuring it out.

The next day turned out to be as bad as America was expecting. Well almost as bad. There wasn’t quiet as much yelling at him after he’d made his presentation and for the most part he was able to answer everyone’s questions well enough to partially satisfy them that the United States was serious, that he himself was taking this all very seriously. But still that didn’t seem to be enough as the hours continue to roll by and they kept harping on the economy and while they were a bit more with their berating of him it was still there clear as days. He was thankful that at least England and Canada were holding themselves back from getting to into the conversation that developed. That was some small glimmer of brightness in the fog that descended over his brain as the day progressed ( ... )

America snorted softly and opened his own map. He wasn’t surprised to discover that Alaska was covered with a matching flower of its own. He didn’t give into the urge to turn back to look at Russia he wasn’t sure he wanted to see the expression on the other nation’s face he could tell from the way that Canada squeaked that Russia wasn’t hiding the fact that he had been the one to draw them and exactly what his meaning was…teasing or not. He made a mental not to remind Russia that he had given up Alaska of his own free will and would not be getting it back any time in the future….no matter how many meals he bought for him ( ... )

When he got up to Russia’s room his determination failed him a little bit. He stood in front of the door and wondered for the first time just what had gotten into him in the moment he’d decided this was a good idea. Then he shook his head, it was a good idea. When Russia answered the door one of two things was going to happen either the other nation was going to, for some strange reason, agree to let him sleep on his couch or…he would punch America right in the face. To America’s muddled brain both of those things would end up giving him the same result…much needed sleep ( ... )

This story makes me too, too happy. I mean, pretty much anyone being protective of America would make me squee, but...yeah. This is just so cute!

It would be funny if Russia said yes lol

I went "awwwwww" during the lunch scene and the sunflowers scene, especially the sunflowers and baby eagles scene! You two... just, just go get a room XD
