Anon wants to see England being courted by a someone; flowers, dinner, movie, hand kissing etc. Bonus points for France teasing him but approving and a silently fuming and jealous America. How it ends is up to anon, I just want to see Arthur being flirted with.

Half-an hour later, and a fresh cup of tea with some newly baked scones, Arthur and Francis sat outside on the garden tea table comfortably.

England looked at France’s knowing smile with no small bit of trepidation and wariness. Usually, a smile like that amounted to no real good and much meddling in other’s affairs. Arthur should know - he had been a victim one too many times.

“So,” The Frenchman started. “Lovely roses in your living room, Arthur. I wonder where they came from…” Francis knew, of course, where they came from. He took a moment to inspect and read that small card attached before waking the Englishman, after all.

It was interesting to note that one mention of those certain roses brought a small flush to Arthur’s cheeks, and a very faint, flattered smile. “Ah,” He took a quiet sip of his black tea. “They were a gift from someone…”

Francis nodded in understanding. “Oui, of course…” He carefully inspected one of the scones from the tray, trying to determine if it was edible or not. (Francis had long ago found out that ( ... )

His palms were sweaty, he kept biting his lips, and he paced back and forth in his living room. His eyes would glance every few moments at the phone sitting on the table, just silently urging him to get a move on already and call him!

And so, almost reverently, Matthew picked up the phone, his fingers hovering over the numbers - knowing the right numbers to press by heart, but unable to do so right now from sheer nervousness.

Hey, at least it wasn’t as bad as it was when Matthew first asked Arthur out (two weeks ago). That took him almost two hours.

Finally gathering up the courage to dial England’s home number, he sat on the nearest chair, fingers drumming against his knee and foot tapping impatiently in an erratic rhythm.

And then, Arthur answered.

“Hello, Arthur Kirkland speaking.”

“Hey, Arthur…! It’s me, ah, Matthew…” The Canadian hoped his voice didn’t sound as nervous as he felt.

“Oh,” Unknown to the younger nation, the sound of Matthew’s voice made Arthur abandon the documents he was reviewing and sit up straight in ( ... )

YAY. Oh, god, the image of Matthew on his knees in a victory air-punch is gonna have me grinning for the rest of the week. Also, awkward phone conversations run in this anon's family, so I totally sympathize. Keep it up!

Friday couldn’t have come any sooner, in both England and Canada’s opinion.

Arthur shifted in his seat, riding a cab to Matthew’s house at the moment. He was dressed finely for the evening, in a suit and tie, by the Canadian’s request. The taller nation had sent him a message via cellphone saying ‘Dress formally.’ the other day. It kind of made Arthur nervous, not because what Matthew planned may be expensive or special or anything like that, but because the younger man was taking all the trouble to do something possibly special. For him.As bloody girly as it sounded, it kind of made his stomach do cartwheels and his cheeks turn an interesting shade of pink ( ... )
