Angel's Lullaby (Part 1) anonymous July 26 2009, 11:10:23 UTC
Original request here: http://hetalia-kink.livejournal.com/9482.html?thread=14151178#t14151178

***

From both his fathers, the child has inherited a wanderlust, a hunger for exploration, an insatiable curiousity for the world. And his world, bright, colorful toy-filled place it is, is a joy to explore.

The playpen he's been left in is no match for his desire to see what exactly is that bright red thing over there in the corner. He gets to his footie-pajama-covered feet, albeit as wobbly as a newborn colt, and pushes. He has his father's immense strength, even in baby dosage - the mere plastic of the playpen is no match, and the door falls. Without it being upright to support him, he does too, landing on his little diaper-padded seat with a small 'uff'. ( ... )

So sweet it's making my teeth hurt! anonymous July 26 2009, 21:50:01 UTC
Hmm AJ. Would that be Arthur Jr.? (I love Chibi Arthur, so damned cute!) Very nicely written. I loved the beginning written through the baby's view.

His daddy's here!

Omg, anon, this was too cute and too sweet for words. I'm thrilled that my request was filled, and with such good work, too. I love the imagery of AJ exploring and observing and playing, with the block (which made me laugh) and the shadows (which made me 'awww'). Alfred is such a cute parent.

Since this is labeled as part one I'm assuming there will be more? God, I can't wait to read it. I just...I was having such a crappy night and then I found this by accident and I feel wonderful, anon, thank you so much <3

Oh, OP, I'm so glad you liked it. But I have to warn you now. There is a part 2 - but it's a lot darker. It's actually a fill for another request, but using the same characters (AJ) and set-up, so I thought it'd be easier to combine them into one fill. If you'd rather, I'll post it separately. I was trying to write this, but the darker fill kept inserting itself, and so....

Oh! Um...it's your fill so you can do whatever you want, but I'd like to see them both? If that's alright.

Author-anon: Sequel up anonymous July 27 2009, 10:50:08 UTC
Author-anon just wants to say, if anyone is interested in more fill with AJ and Alfred, but in a much darker universe, there's a new fill I'm doing called "Sins of the Father", found here at http://hetalia-kink.livejournal.com/10456.html?thread=14695384#t14695384

There's still fluff between AJ and Alfred, but it's also a fill about what exactly happened to Arthur, AJ's other father, and why Alfred is raising AJ all alone. It is much angstier, and Arthur doesn't come off very well. (He's not dead though)

But if you still want to give it a look-see...

Oh, Author-anon... I wish now that I had commented sooner. I adore, utter adore what you did here. "Angel's Lullaby" is so full of love, of a joy somehow quiet and intense at once, that I've bookmarked it as my new happy place. When I first read it, I wanted to thank you for writing something so lovely amidst the dark turn that this meme seems to be taking, at least when it comes to Alfred. I can't enjoy those particular stories any more for a variety of reasons, personal and political, that I'll spare you here. So I'm sad for myself that I won't get to read any more in this lovely 'verse, and envious of those lucky ones who will! Thank you for giving me this little piece of sunshine anyhow. ♥
