You know, I've been eyeing this fic, but I haven't read it yet because normally modern AUs (and a coffee shop AU specifically for a canon like Mad Max) aren't my thing. But... I think you've convinced me to give it a shot, because whoa, that sounds great.

I actually love AUs, but really wasn't sure how I felt about it for Mad Max specifically, either. But even from the first chapter I was hooked and seriously it's so so WORTH it. I hope you enjoy it - you'll have to let me know what you think!

Same. What convinced me to click was the detail that Furiosa was a MECHANIC and not a barista, and boy, am I glad I decided to give this fic a try.

Yay, more Fury Road recs (I'm reading so many of these at the moment, I haven't had time to look for new ones for a while).

I could be wrong but it looks like the tumblr version of this rec links to a different fic (Orbit, which is also awesome but definitely not a coffee shop AU)?

This was about the third fic I read in this fandom, and it blew me away. Truly impressive job bringing the MMFR dynamics into an alternative universe; very real and loving and respectful of these incredible characters. Beautifully written, too.

ISN'T THIS FIC AMAZING? It was one of the first fics I've read for this fandom, and it totally spoiled me.
