I second this rec. I've read this, and if it's the one I remember, there's also a companion piece, and they are both quite good.

Of course, I have yet to read anything of jaq's VM that I didn't like.

It might only be on AO3. I have read everything she's got on AO3, even if it's not my fandom. I especially love her VM/NCIS crossover. All the yes.

thank you so much for the rec! The sequel to this is called On the Radar; the general inspiration for both is to see Veronica and Weevil from other people's perspectives. (The series is also called Into Focus, I have a third piece almost done, but it's a pretty complex wider story so I have NO idea when it will be finished.) And not sure if you realised, Ophelia actually did appear in the series - she's his little niece who hides the cashbox for Weevil in Ain't No Magic Mountain High Enough :D

Oh, and yes, A03 is my primary archive. I got very annoyed with LJ mucking up my formatting at one point and sometimes forget to post my fic here. I'm jaqofspades at A03.

actually I knew Ophelia was in the show (I know VM like the back of my hand) - but I dunno, I think I wrote OFC because we didn't know much about her and you just made her your own character. But I'm going to amend the post.
