Fandom: NCIS
Pairing: Leroy Jethro Gibbs/Jenny Sheppard
Blurb: I first fell in love with this pairing, to be honest, because of how much I adore Lauren Holly. She’s wonderful in everything she’s in. But once I got into the pairing, I realized how great they are as characters. They both have very traumatic and secretive pasts, they’re both very stern, uptight sort of people, except with each other and their very few close friends, and they have an intriguing past that was more than hinted at from the very first episode they were in together. They're my favorite kind of couple.

Why This Must Be Read: This story, first of all, is highly romantic and evocative. The imagery is lovely and the flashback fits very well with the brief memories we saw on the show. One of the most interesting things about this oneshot though, is the contrast of their relationship and even personalities now as opposed to then.
Fic Rec #2: Fireworks

Why This Must Be Read: Well, namely, it’s just a lot of fun. J But, especially for being generally a smutty bit of fun, it is also very well-written. The use of red, white and blue as imagery is intriguing, what with her red hair and his background as a Marine.

Why This Must Be Read: I am listing these three together because they are a trilogy and you really can’t read one without the others. My personal favorite is Paris Nights because it is a) the happiest and b) in my personal opinion, the most romantic and sexiest. The inclusion of other characters from the show, including Ducky, of course, makes for great tie-in with flashbacks and references on the show to their time in Europe.
Fic Rec #4: Want

Why This Must Be Read: Angsty and romantic all at the same time, this fic is actually an award-winner, I believe. It really captures their strained relationship on the show, the issues they have between them due to Jen’s leaving him years before and her determination to not start something with him again.
Fic Rec #5: That’s What She Said

Why This Must Be Read: Hilarious. Simple as that. So awkward you honestly have to feel bad for Gibbs and so funny it brought tears to my eyes.
Fic Rec #6: Flavors

Why This Must Be Read: Mmm, because it’s yummy. (Pun intended.) A collection of oneshots each based on a different flavor, some sweet, some silly and some rather delicious. It’s a great read and an easy read - perfect for when you just want something fun.
Fic Rec #7: Complicated

Why This Must Be Read: Jenny’s predicament here is entirely reasonable, considering how tied up she must have been during her years as director. And considering Gibbs’ very intimate knowledge of her, it’s almost surprising he doesn’t figure it out before she does. But, then, for having such complicated love lives, the solution was impossibly simple - and definitely worth reading.

Why This Must Be Read: Intensely romantic, made even more so by how very short it is. This fic is barely a mouthful but it has all the pieces required for this pairing - a little bit of angst, a little bit of reminiscing and a good load of tension.
Fic Rec #9: Bulletproof Weeks

Why This Must Be Read: It’s simple, it’s to-the-point and it’s very Jenny. The author really captures her voice even though it is in third person and the imagery of the weekdays for major events in Jenny’s life is simplistically beautiful.

Why This Must Be Read: It’s fun, it’s sweet (literally) and it’s a great note to end this manifesto on - happy and upbeat, for once with Jenny and Gibbs.
