This is really nice. You totally nail Mal's ambiguity regarding Inara and her job and how he seperates the two in his mind. Nice.

This was one of the few I worried about if I did a good job. I've always enjoyed Firefly, but I had never written it before.

So I stuck Shindig on and watched it a few times, and then just let it play again as I wrote.

I did the exact same thing when I was writing mine. I've done a little bit of writing for firefly, but my het_challenge piece was the first one I wrote with actual plot. So I started rewatching all the Simon-centric episodes, and tried hard to get the tone right.
