That's excellent... such a great metaphor, and so in character. I loved reading this and remembering the Star Wars I grew up with.

Thank you! :)

I grew up with the original trilogy, too, and the nostalgia while writing this was very welcome to my jaded little heart. When I think about it, Han and Leia were probably my first ship (though I secretly wanted him for myself). Such great chemistry between them. Anakin and Padmé wish they could compare.

Thank you!

I enjoy the challenge of trying to work things around canon, and the movies are so great for filling in blanks.

This is lovely! It reminds me of the reasons fanfic exists.

Thank you! I used to be a huge fangirl for SW in high school, but never wrote for it. This was interesting, but in a good way.

I loved this.

The reoccurring image of the puzzle was excellent, and nicely tied in to the feeling I got from Leia through out the whole piece, that she was just barely hanging on to her sanity and self control.

You used second person pov very effectively. When I first say the ‘you’ I was like, oh no, because often writing in second person just comes off as a trick and doesn’t add anything to the story, but in this case it really pulled me into Leia’s head nicely, and broke up the sections in a very effective way.

It should be hideous in a way that makes the memory go numb, never to return, never to haunt, never to remind you that you're utterly alone.

This line is really nice, and I like the implication that Leia is so haunted by Alderaan.

Associating the puzzle with Alderaan is quite nice; plus Leia is the person who puts things back together again, so having her spend the whole of the fic working to put her (metaphoric) world back together is nicely heart wrenching.

She's not in the mood for conversation or appraisal, and her ( ... )

I should be thanking you!

Star Wars isn't my main fandom, and, really, this is only the second time I've written something for it (first was a H/L drabble), but it was so fun and frustrating and wonderful. I swear, I spent probably a week browsing Wookieepedia, getting reacquainted with the characters! It was a nice change from the Final Fantasy world, and there's definitely a spot in my heart again for this pairing.

So thank you for forcing me outside my box, and I'm so very glad you liked it. :)

I really enjoyed this! Small moments are something I love reading. You've captured the relationship these two share so well. The shifting points of view worked well! This reminds me of the first time I watched the original SW trilogy properly (by which I mean actually understanding it!) when I was younger. Thank you!

Thank you!

I remember it being such a great trilogy when I was younger, and it wasn't until I got older that I noticed flaws. Still, that makes it ripe for fanfiction!
