User name: punch_kicker15 Email: punch_kicker at ymail dot com Preferred Fandoms/Pairings: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Deep Space Nine, Babylon 5, Elementary, most of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I have a passing familiarity with early seasons of other shows (Arrow, The Flash). I am totally cool with reading for a fandom I don't know, if you just need to see how well the story scans and don't require deep canon familiarity from your beta. Is there any type of fiction you would prefer to avoid beta'ing? non-con, slavery, graphic violence. What are your strengths as a beta reader? Catching the odd little typos that spell-check misses, suggesting when a scene might need some expansion (or when it's kind of repetitive and could be cut). What kind of turn around time can someone expect from you? one week for Little Bang, two weeks for Big Bang.
Would you be up to being a beta for a SG1 fic? Just want a second pair of eyes that will catch my typos and grammar errors and any inconsistencies in the story.
User name: upoffmyknees Email: myonetruelove00@gmail.com Preferred Fandoms/Pairings: I will beta anything, but prefer shows that I am familiar with as it allows me to be sure that the characters are true to themselves. But overall I am open to anything. Is there any type of fiction you would prefer to avoid beta'ing? nope, but I'm really good with smut What are your strengths as a beta reader? I'm very good with grammar and also with helping when a writer gets stuck and doesn't know where to go. What kind of turn around time can someone expect from you? Never more than a week. My days off vary week by week and usually I can get it done on my first off day.
figured it was okay to sign up as a beta reader in both places!
User name: ghostonfilm Email: aghostonfilm@gmail.com Preferred Fandoms/Pairings: ASOIAF/GOT, almost anything involving Jon, Sansa, Robb, Bran, Asha, Daenerys. Is there any type of fiction you would prefer to avoid beta'ing? 100% smut (some smut is fine); Stannis ships; Lannister-centric. Ask about particular kinks. What are your strengths as a beta reader? I'm good at talking through logistical problems/writing blocks, thinking through characterization & character arcs, giving a reader's impression of pacing etc, SPAG. What kind of turn around time can someone expect from you? It really depends on what you want. Something in-depth will take longer than a basic SPAG check. I'm happy to work at any stage of the process: brainstorming, outlining, partial draft, full draft. Happy to cheerlead/be accountability partner as well (I'm writing too).
Anyone interested in betaing a mini-bang for the NCIS:New Orleans fandom? There's no need to know anything about the show- as it's a sequel, I'll be providing a summary of what went through before- as my mian concern, considering that I'm not a native speaker (yep. I'm Italian, guys!)is grammar and sentences structure.
Did anyone contact you for this? I don't know the show (I think I've watched maybe one episode ever) but I could do a basic beta if you still need it! :)
Thank you very much, that'd be much welcome, as the only person willing to do that would agree only if the story was already finished... and I'm kind of in high sea this year around... No need to know anything about the show, as grammar and structure are my main issues.
