Hello everyone! There are some really great stories up for claiming this year! The deadline has passed and no more rough drafts will be accepted, so here are the summary previews! 10k Big Bang story claiming will begin on Saturday, July 9th at 12 Noon PDT. 5k Little Bang story claiming will begin after all 10k Big Bang stories have been claimed.
We will be posting both the 5k Little Bang summaries and the 10k Big Bang summaries at the same time, on separate posts, for fanworkers to peruse. The 5k Little Bang post will only be unlocked after all of the 10k Big Bang stories have been claimed.
Authors, please look this post over to make sure your summary and information is correct! If anything is missing or wrong, please PM or email us ASAP, so we can get it fixed right away!!! If you are on the HetBang Discord server, that is also an excellent way to get in contact with us quickly.
You will notice that all usernames have been removed. That is because this is a blind claiming. Please do not tell your fanworker friends who are participating which story number is yours; the idea of a blind claim is to create a collaborative atmosphere. If your fanworker friends know the premise of your story and claim it, that's fine! We don't want hurt feelings due to a story being claimed by someone else, however, as stories are claimed on a first come, first served basis.
All 10k Big Bang stories are guaranteed at least one fanwork. In the event of a pinch hit being needed, we mods will take care of it. However, if you are a fanworker that would be willing to take a last minute pinch and can create art fairly quickly (you would most likely only have a few days to finish the art piece, please keep this in mind), send us an email and we will keep you in mind!
All 5k Little Bang stories are not guaranteed a fanwork. We will do our best to get all stories a fanworker but cannot 100% guarantee a fanwork for the Little Bang stories.
Fanworks come in many different forms! Traditional art, digital art, manips, vids, and fanmixes (with cover art) are all great. After matching is done, talk with your fanworker and see what their skills are!
Fanworkers, you must create at least one fanwork per story you claim. You are free and welcome to do more than one fanwork per story you claim, of course! Just make sure that you can finish fanworks for all of the stories you claim, in the event you claim more than one story.
There are two different ways to claim a story. The first way is to leave a comment on this post, after claims open, and there are a few ways to do this: comment with a LiveJournal account, login with OpenID to comment, or have a friend with an LJ account comment for you. (If your username differs on your LJ/DW or OpenID account from the Ao3 username you used to sign-up, please leave the Ao3 username that was used to sign-up so we can get matching emails out quickly!) If you are unable to comment anonymously, please email us your claims.
The second way to claim a story is by emailing us at thehetbigbang@gmail.com, and listing the story numbers and titles you are claiming. We will do our best to match timestamps so that the first fanworker to claim a story gets it. If you are going to claim via email, do not send your claim choices until after the claiming period has been announced. Email claims that do not follow this rule and come before claiming begins will be disregarded.
During this preview period, fanworkers have the chance to thoroughly look over all the summaries and decide which ones they would be able to create art for. Claiming is done on a first come, first served basis, so it's a good idea to take advantage of this preview window and take note of which stories you want to claim. This way, you won't need to scramble to read summaries and get your claims in, you'll already have an idea of what you want to work on! Try to determine at least 3 fics you can work on, so you can list your top 3 choices. If there are only 2 stories you would like to work on, this is fine as well, but do try to decide on more than one story to work on.

If you are a fanworker that successfully claims a story and have not signed up, here is the form to do that! We need for all fanworkers to sign up, so that we can get their email addresses to use for author/fanworker matching.
A matching email will go out to both the fanworker and the author containing each other’s contact information after a claim is successful. We plan to start sending these emails out Sunday morning. You should receive this email no later than 72 hours after we have confirmed the claim. If you don't get this match up email, please get in contact with us ASAP so that fanworkers and authors can get to work quickly!
Second claims for 5k Little Bang stories will open 24 hours after the first round has opened. During second claims, all fanworkers can claim additional stories that are still in need of a fanworker.
Once all 10k Big Bang stories are claimed, the 5k Little Bang post will be unlocked and open for claiming. During the first round of claims for 5k Little Bang stories, fanworkers can claim one story, and if there are any remaining stories after 24 hours, a second round of claims will be opened, where fanworkers can claim additional stories, just like in the 10k Big Bang story claims.
If all stories, Big Bang and Little Bang, are claimed before July 16th, mods will consider opening all stories to be claimed by a fanworker twice. 10k Big Bang stories will not need to be claimed first. All 10k Big Bang stories are guaranteed one fanworker only. If all stories go up for second claims, they are not guaranteed more than one fanworker.

Summary: "You two look at each other like you wished clothing was never invented." So said an exasperated housemate to Bella and Rafe, before the two of them worked out that what they wanted most was to commit to each other. But now that they're together and the spring semester is upon them, there are other issues to resolve. Rafe needs to get settled at their Ivy university without feeling like he's turning his back on his sprawling family or the restaurant they run. Bella needs to reclaim her place in her family after being attacked and demonized by the narcissist who married her older sister. There's a gorgeous future waiting for them if they can just work out how to get the people who love them to see them as they really are and help them become who they are supposed to be.
This story takes place at the present time in Connecticut (at the fictional Ivy League school, Harkness College) and New York City, where both Bella (Upper East Side) and Rafe (Washington Heights) are from, and where Rafe's family runs a Dominican restaurant. Rafe, 20, is bilingual (Spanish and English) and working-class, the only child of his single mother (I was picturing Xolo Maridueña). Bella, 22, is white and wealthy, the younger daughter of a real-estate billionaire (I was picturing Amanda Seyfried).
Content warnings for involuntary drug use and misogyny apply. In the source novel, Bella is roofied and sexually explicit misogynystic slurs are written on her body. Quick references to that incident are made in the fic. Throughout the novel, Bella is also villainized by her peers for her active sex life with multiple partners.

Summary: When Clint invites Kate to the Barton family Christmas in Iowa, she assumes it's because he doesn't want her to be alone for the holiday. What she finds is her childhood hero sleeping on the living room couch of his own house. The holiday he was supposed to have in NYC with the kids was the start to the end of his marriage. Separate holidays, separate cities. Why did he bring her--to comfort her, or himself?
Back in the city, Kate finds herself at loose ends with a wrecked apartment and a huge empty house without her mother in it. Grappling with her guilt, she is only too glad to find that Clint is at loose ends, too. When the investigation into Fisk's organization heats up and New York becomes too dangerous with her mother a key part of the case, Clint and Kate hit the road, looking for warmer weather and an escape from their lives.
This story takes place right after the events of the show. Clint and Kate do hook up before he is divorced, but he and Laura are no longer sleeping together. Also, mind the age gap. Kate is 22. I'm putting Clint in his early/mid-40s.

Lady Death and Lady Time have plans for the three of them and Morgana awakens in the Fields of Elysium where she learns her true destiny. She has two soulmates, both Gods of Asgard and two brothers with a highly complex relationship with one another. Morgana learns how to control her magic, gaining the training denied to her in Camelot.
Loki had never expected to find his soulmate until he met Morgana but before he can indeed be happy with her they must be ready for the Mad Titian who seeks to destroy the delicate balance between life and death and they must work with a group of heroes that will make of the Avengers who hold a few familiar faces for Morgana.

Hawkmoth has captured Ladybug and, after she wiped her own memories of everything Miraculous-specific, he wiped Marinette's memories of everything. Outside the Agreste mansion, Chat Noir has also disappeared: opinions differ on whether he has died or abandoned them or is acting from hiding, though there's broad agreement that Hawkmoth doesn't know either, and on whether Ladybug herself is imprisoned or dead, though there's broad agreement that Hawkmoth hasn't told all, if any, of the truth. (Separately, and much less relevantly to most of Paris, Marinette Dupain-Cheng has been reported dead.) Inside the Agreste mansion, Gabriel now has "Marie" believing she's Nathalie's daughter, effectively making her his stepdaughter, and treating her accordingly. Not that this says much, because the moment Gabriel noticed Adrien noticing Marinette is still alive, Gabriel ensured Adrien is able to say and do very little without Gabriel's express prior approval, and Gabriel moved to reclaim control over the Peacock Miraculous, leaving only the Black Cat Miraculous outside Hawkmoth's power.
The plot of this very nonlinear story-largely Marie figuring out the problems with this setup and Marie and Adrien plotting to get out from Gabriel's control while Ladybug and Chat Noir's teammates try to identify Hawkmoth, fight him as best they can without powers, reclaim the Miraculouses, and figure out what really happened to Ladybug and Chat Noir-is primarily driven by the same romance that drives the main series, except instead of Marinette | Ladybug loves Adrien and is platonic partners with Chat Noir while Adrien | Chat Noir loves Ladybug and is very good friends with Marinette, it's she knows basically nothing except that she loves him, including who she is, and he knows pretty much everything and can't tell her, including that he loves her.
The Marie-past thread will take place entirely inside the Agreste mansion, though a lot of it will be in rooms not yet shown in canon. The Marie-present and others-present threads will mostly take place inside the Restaurant du Grand Paris, with all characters in at least one of formalwear, the restaurant's staff uniform, their canon superhero designs, or a noncanonical superhero design (that's Ladybug!Marie, Peacock!Marie, and Butterfly!Adrien). The Marinette thread has one scene inside Hawkmoth's attic lair and will mostly take place inside the Dupain-Cheng apartment and bakery. The others-past thread will take place all over, notably including the Liberty, College Francoise Dupont, and the Cesaire apartment. Marinette has her canonical pigtails in the attic lair scene, but at all other points in the story her hair is shorter and none of her canon hairstyles apply.
