Wherein Jason talks a lot about Rites of Passage

When last we spoke, I was holding forth on the “everything else” bits from last weekend’s Rites of Passage weekend. Now, here’s the other part.

Talky talky talky )

Aw, now I'm blushing and stuff. Thanks again for the kind words, and for providing excellent support throughout the weekend. I truly appreciated having you there with me very much, even when you tried to injure me by way of running me into a torch holder.:)

*grins* Well, I thought I'd leave any additional outtakes for a later post - and I didn't want to steal that really amusing part of the story from you. :)

One of my favorite things about Rites rituals that I've seen is that they really seem to reflect not only the myth of that year but also the personalities of the Rites team. No matter how much of the planning staff are the same year-to-year, it just wouldn't be the same with different people in the leading roles.

That said, it was truly an honor to be a part of the setting for you and your team members. I know that you rock (to put it into my own vernacular), but it was one of those moments of realizing how much you REALLY rock. Many happy returns of that feeling of ease and joy, bub.

I definitely agree with you there - each year I've been to Rites, the Saturday ritual has really felt like it fit the team really well.

And for the record - I like your vernacular just fine. ;)

It was an amazing night and you all did amazing work. Misleading Robin on the "only one of you can win" thing was the hardest part of everything I did that night as a support person LOL

And yes, it was Jen at the water path trance drumming for Laurie. :)

Congrats again.

Yeah, that whole "There can be only one" piece was interesting. One of those things where intellectually I didn't quite buy it, but at the same time it hit me right between the eyes emotionally. You are all tricksy, tricksy staff members. :)

Well written when words are hard to find to describe it. And yes, you articulated beautifully the choice that was so difficult and emotional for me too. Thanks.

Congrats to you as well! I wish I could have been there, but I was thinking of you all.
