I feel free to never answer the phone if I don't want to. Phones are very rude devices really: if we realized that a ringing phone is equivalent to someone dropping by unannounced and demanding to speak with us, we'd see that.

yeah, i feel pretty free not to answer the phone when i don't wanna as well. ESPECIALLY now when i have a landline and a CELL. i don't want to always be reachable...

I may have given you this quote before, but this is typically how the phone calls/friendships in my life work:
