I'm an idiot

So, I am apparently oblivious when the holiday season comes around. I was at work at the bookstore yesterday and at one point while ringing customers I looked up at the line, stared at one of they guys in line and gave him a smile while AJ rang him up. I recall vaugely doing as such as well but I wish I wasn't so out of it. About five minute later AJ turns to me and asks, "Who was that guy in Seabiscut?" "Tobey Maguire." "Ok, thanks... No.. Wrong guy." I'm puzzled by this response but I continue working. Five minutes later.. "The guy in Brokeback Mountain, the dark haired one? Who was that?" "Jake Gyllenhaal." Pause. "Ok, yeah, that was it." "That was it? What are you talking about?" AJ finally stops working on whatever he was fiddling with while the line dies down and I'm working on the last customer of the moment. "The guy you were staring at. The one with the long hair. That was Jake Gyllenhaal." The next few minutes was spent by me trying to make AJ prove that he was actually in the store but he paid with cash so no dice there.. But he described the guy I looked at and I remember that so he's right, I was just in one of my hazes. I'll go into a fog where I'll remember weird details but not essential ones like a person's face. Later, on my break, I called Jay and told him and he called me oblivious. I'm quite inclined to agree with him. Later I told Aj that if that ever happens again to just nudge me or something and if he ever sees David Tennant that he had better tell me. I was with a customer in one of the isles at the time and he asks as he walks away, "I don't even know who that is or what he looks like." Much to the amusement of the elderly lady I was with I reply, "He's Doctor Who. He's really tall, super skinny and oh my HOT!" The lady I was with started cracking up.

In other news, my dad sent me a really awesome celtic silver cuff bracelet, and i checked my email as instructed and discovered a $100 ThinkGeek gift certificate. Awesomeness. It sort of makes up for my blonde moment.

Edit: So yeah, I remember now, damn you Gyllenhaal and your shaven face, that threw me off! >_
