i was. for a year. and in that year's time we actually got one snowfall that covered the city--i remember it distinctly because it was the night of our valentine's day show and around 1am everyone ran outside and had snowball fights, which carried on into the club when the novelty of the freezing air, but not yet the snow, had worn off. now that was some crazy shit. as was seeing texans attempt to drive in it. so then after that i was in san diego for a year and then in albuquerque for less than a year and now in santa fe. such is the life of a gypsy-spirited grrrl, i guess.
hey sweetie! thanks so much for the healing thoughts. and don't worry, i'm definitely doing my best to take care of myself. i hope you're taking real good care of yourself as well
( ... )
that's really quite beautifully put. somewhat a scary thought, but beautiful words. i thought at first that you were quoting a mary oliver poem i hadn't read.
2) Did you buy one of Oliver's books? Which one? I have another poet I think you'll enjoy. Not quite Oliver caliber but very moving nonetheless. His name is Lee Young-Li. I'll show you one of his books when you come over tonight.
ha‧rass: 1) To bother continually; pester. 2) To wear out; exhaust.
hmmm. yup. i stand by what i originally wrote.
2) not yet. the line was kinda long that night. every time i'm over at your place i have an overwhelming urge to steal many of your books. but i figure i'd best get through the one i have currently before doing so.
I feel for you and wish I could stop by to be your personal assistant cocolola-style (coffee and pedicures), and exchange hospital stories, and man, I hope that sailor ripley fellow is one excellent top. ;)
aw, so sweet, sparky. i had to read back quite a long ways in your journal to find out what landed you in the hospital. so look, it's like we already traded stories! it was so interesting, reading a good chunk of your journal all in one sitting, seeing how things progressing for you in sf, what's been happening in the world around you, etc.
and yeah, that SR is something else. i can't wait for bitch boy to get here! there's this whole intricate plan in the works that you would loooooove. i'm just so pleased i get to be part of it.

i love mary oliver --her 'wild geese' poem has been with me ever since i read it over 10 years ago. how amazing you got to meet her.
take care of yourself (which it sounds like you're doing). thinking of you and sending lots of healing thoughts your way.
