Eeeeeeee! I love it! I just knew you were going to make them have a kid :) Although I'm usually all about the angst, I really love the fluff of these series, it's cute without being overly-cute (if that makes sense?). Matt is adorable (and a wise ass), I'm thinking he took after his daddy. The little girl will take after her mommy of course (wink wink). I loved the pirate conversation between Matt and Logan. Especially these parts:

"But what if they try to make her walk the plank? She's getting all lopsided. What if she can't keep her balance?"

"Okay, Dad. But if she is a girly-girl, can I make her walk the plank?"
I know I already said this before but...I love it. Thanks for taking the time to write it!

Well, my first thought was an engagement or wedding, but since the "4 months" puts them in February, that just didn't seem right. I figure Logan is a romantic enough that he'd want to propose on Halloween, and then between the two of them, they'd probably try to have their wedding around the same time of year. [although, when I was doing the math to figure out what year this was, in the future, the 31st was on like a WEDNESDAY, which is a very strange night to have a wedding ( ... )

Wisely, Logan hides his inner amusement. I think the rest of the paragraph is in the past and this is in the present.

Matt is cute. I think he and Mandy should meet in some parallel universe.

Yeah, this is pretty fluffy. And thanks for the grammar note. It's been changed. :D

I had fun writing Matt. I don't know that I'll be writing any more in this universe [seriously, thinking of new pirate concepts is HARD], but if Sarah wants to write something, I'll happily let her play with Matt and his unknown parents in her 'verse. ;) But I've been toying with the idea of giving Esperanza a friend at preschool named Mandy. I don't know when/if that'll actually get written into the story, but in my head? The talent show that Esperanza was in just before Duncan's wedding [referenced, I think, in the last chapter of Only Hope?] had Mandy tap dancing alongside Esperanza. :D

I can easily ask that Matt be written into my Sweet Charity fic (in fact I left a strange message that I'll have to codify in an email soon.)

Mandy would be a great partner for Esperanza, too.

I don't know if I'll have any ideas to merit another follow-up - because, seriously, I'm running out of pirate concepts to work with, but I wouldn't mind playing with that at some point. We'll see where the muse leads though.

However, I'm leaning towards a girl myself. Not sure on a name though - haven't really thought that far ahead. Maybe Christina or Samantha or something like that - traditional enough, but nicknames that would properly suit someone who wasn't going to be a girly-girl. [Chris, Sam, etc.]

Thanks so much for the feedback! I'm glad you liked it. And, of course, while I do still enjoy teh angst, it's hard to have a good angsty fic that's THIS SHORT. Plus, I kinda like having the pirate series be all "and they lived happily ever after - except when L/V fought, but even then, they had really hot make-up sex." :D
