Alright, so cephiedvariable did this, wonderfully, in her own LJ. It looked like a lot of fun so despite the fact that I knew some of my choices would be identical to hers, I decided I'd share my own personal picks for top anime opening sequences of all time.

YES TO THE LAIN OPENING. It's one of my own personal favorites. I love thaat song so much.

This is a meme I would like to do, but I can't even think of 15 animes I've seen where I liked the opening. You have some of my favorites up here though, and this is the first time I've seen anything from the Record of Lodoss War anime. Love the music for that one.

Ohhh a lot of these are totally awesome, and I agree that they're incredibly original, innovative, and creative theme songs (and openings). Some of them, in fact, I always sing at the karaoke.

Oh maaaan, this list is even better than mine. XD I've never actually seen the animation to accompany the opening of Standalone Complex and... wow, that's quite stunning, actually. o_O

Also- The Record of Lodoss War almost made my list simply because the song IS that amazing. However, I've never actually seen the series so I felt a little weird including it.

This was fun! Most of these I've never seen, so I enjoyed the exposure to the new as much as I enjoyed reviewing the ones I already knew. The EVA OP still makes me want to pause and go through it frame by frame, even though I've done that many times before. I love all the quick shots of characters and information they cram into it. The cuts are perfectly done to fit to the music, and they add to the mystique of the series. Thanks for sharing these!
