Raven had been spending much of her time either in the city or holed up in her room, but as luck would have it, she stepped out into the hallway at just the right moment to almost bump into Momoko.

"Momoko," she greeted her with a smile. "I did not realize you were here. Who do you have there?"

"RAVEN!" Momoko's face broke into a million smiles.

The dog, however, growled again. Momoko tried to put a calming hand on her head and got nipped at for her troubles.

"Uhm, actually, I don't know her name, and she's kind of why I'm here. My friend and I rescued her from a bad situation back in Texas."

Raven frowned, picking up on the dog's distress and remembering dogs she had helped to save years ago. Her dorm room had been far too small to keep one herself, but she'd found good homes for all of them.

"It is very good of you to rescue her," she said, stepping closer so she could lay a gentle hand on the dog's head. She sent her a soft pulse of comfort and calm.

There was a slow growl from the dog, but it was obviously nowhere the same as the one she'd been giving a moment ago; more of a discomfort disconcerted growl, perhaps?

"The person who had her wasn't treating her right. Miyako says they hit her a lot. And suspect she's got some other things wrong." Momoko gave Raven a hopeful look. "Like here, around her neck? They had her tied by a rope and it looks almost like it grew there, the way it's cut into her skin.

yes, Momoko thought she was being sneaky and subtle here.
