Dinah had managed to restrain the urge to facepalm; Mark and Kirt were sweeties. But a little too big and enthusiastic for either to be good at sneaking. At least Mark was... slightly better at it?

Right: Ulrich got all sneaking assignments, after this.

Dinah hauled Samantha, the witch they'd brought along, in through the window, checking on Momoko's progress. So far, no panic. No one must have noticed them, once Samantha and Denys got them past the wards on the building.

Now. The missing baby was probably on one of the other levels... and probably near the center, if she'd been the one making the choice.

She spotted a staircase down the hall, and checked to make sure Samantha was following, before heading toward it to wait for Momoko.

Judging from the face Ulrich was making as he brought up the rear, he would appreciate it; he almost looked offended at the way the rest of the group were tromping about. "No one outside, Lady Dinah," he whispered. He watched Kirt move to watch the window and keep their exit clear...

Momoko was carrying Ulrich by the scruff of his neck collar when she returned to the group. She dropped him between herself and Dinah, "We said no looting. We're here strictly for Riesa."

"Only a few trinkets. We could sell a few of them for the Lady's cause," Ulrich knew he couldn't charm them into changing their rules, but he was definitely going to try. "They deserve to lose what they have."

"No."

"Not this time," Dinah said more patiently, her voice very low. "This is too important."

Riesa's mom was a teenage witch from the village, who'd had an affair with the head of house and gotten pregnant. He'd never had any interest in his daughter... but his wife had decided that if she couldn't have one of her own, that Riesa would do just fine. And up and had her servants snatch her about two weeks earlier.

And she'd renamed her Ludmilla. Gah.

Dinah started air-walking quietly up the stairs, stopping at the top and cocking an ear. Nothing so far. She signaled to Samantha, who opened her hand, and let a small witchlight spell, glowing green, float free. It hovered for a moment, then shot down the hallway, to dart through a door on the right-hand side. That had to be Riesa's nursery.

Momoko was calling her Riesa, sorry.

Having the most resistance to magical attacks, aside from Denys who was outside on guard, meant Momoko was the one reaching for the door handle to the room Samantha's witchglow had indicated.

Momoko felt a small shiver go through her as slowly opened the door and stepped into the room. It was obviously a child's nursery, even to someone not from Glacia. She took a moment to stand there and orient herself to the dim light in the room before trying to locate the actual baby girl.

She moved further in, hovering above the floor to not make any noise... Denys had mentioned the possibility of a nursemaid in the room and Momoko needed to make sure there was no alarm raised.
