Momoko had rushed back to the dorms as soon as her portal had let her out, stowed her things (aka threw them on her bed) and rushed off to class.

Check that, she stepped back outside and FREAKED OUT. It took a few minutes and many questions of npc passersby before she was sure she hadn't actually had some kind of weird time effect and missed the ( Read more... )

Toothbrush, hairbrush, coin purse (with twenty yen change in it from the trip to the mall with Kuriko and Miyako)... "Ah! Incense. Did I buy only the two packs? Hmm. Well, T&C may have some. Or I can order more. Okay. So that's the ihai and the incense."

Moshi was absolutely sure there was a problem with Jaime. No skritches meant the poor human was under some evil mind control, right? And Moshi was sure he knew how to fix it... there was a brief butt-wiggle and then a POUNCE! and suddenly Jaime's OBVIOUSLY EVIL big toe was completely CAUGHT by the brave brave sir Moshi.

(Yeah, he was his mother's cat.)

Moshi's oh-so-generous pouncing did not result in scritches. But it did result in Jaime's eyes going wide and a very, very loud hiss of pain.

The hiss had two effects... One, Moshi retracted his claws and ran under the bed.

And two: Momoko turned and threw a ('totally cute and you have to get them!') shoe in the direction of the door.

"Ah!" Jaime raised a hand to defend himself from the flying shoe, but was too slow.

Whap. Right in the nose.

"Ah! Jaime! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean it!" She shoved the bag and few items off her lap and rushed over to drag him into the room and set him down.

"Well, I totally did, because I thought there was some pervert or burglar there or something because Moshi ran away and he doesn't usually run from people. Are you okay? I didn't mean to throw it at you. Let me see!"

Jaime had his hands over his face, covering his nose. "I think you broke it," he complained. Even though he was sure it wasn't broken.

Well it had been an awesome shoe.

"Are you sure? Let me see? I didn't even aim it, so it was totally accidental! Ah! Let me get a cold towel." Momoko grabbed a handcloth from a drawer and then went into the bathroom to wet it.

Jaime kept his hand in place while Momoko was out, but while he could keep his nose covered, the tiny little trickle of blood that leaked down to his lip was kind of obvious.

Returning, Momoko stood in place to stare a moment at the trickle. "Blood! Ah!" She rushed forward, washcloth at the ready.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry! Let me see! Ah, I should go get Scully, right? Does it hurt? Here!" She tried to pull his hand away and replace it with the cloth.

"I'm fine," Jaime insisted, letting her get a look. "It's just a little bump."

Though it might swell a bit by tomorrow.

"Oh!" Her face fell as she used a corner to wipe the blood from his lip and then gingerly pressed the cool wet cloth against the side of his nose.

"...I really am sorry."

Jaime smiled. And, really, he didn't even have to force it. Because, again, that was kind of adorable of her.

"I know you didn't mean to," Jaime told her. "I suppose I shouldn't have just stood there, huh?"

Totally worth it, though!

Momoko sank to a seat beside him, still holding the cloth against his nose. "I totally shouldn't have thrown it; I should have just asked or something." She sighed. "Why didn't you knock or say anything?"

It would make her feel a little better.

"Instinct? I don't know. It was weird that Moshi ran and all I heard was a hiss." She sighed, giving a rueful grin as she pulled the cloth back to double it over and then gently dab at the injury. "Plus I'm a bit upset, worried about people, you know?"
