I'm late to this party, but this is an awesome fic. As an emergency responder, this caught my emotions perfectly.

I'm so glad this really resonated with someone who has to deal with these situations regularly. DA is something that everyone has these magic solutions for, but in reality, the situations never go that smoothly. There are 101 reasons why a woman won't, can't, or shouldn't leave, and in the end, the rest of us are just left there sitting on our hands. But, that doesn't mean that sometimes, making the effort doesn't make a difference for someone, somewhere.
