Title: Language
Rating: R-ish? (Not really graphic sex)
Pairing: Jack/Elizabeth
Words: 780
Notes: I deliberately didn't place this in any certain time, because I didn't mention Will at all, and I didn't want to have to deal with him. So if you want to believe he's dead, go for it, and if you want to believe she's cheating on him, go for that, too. ( Read more... )

Okay, you know how I feel about Jack/Liz.

BUT THIS WAS FANTASTIC!

Just really and painfully beautiful. Great imagry, great character exploration, and just lovely narrative work.

an emptiness that came from a fullness that couldn't be channeled.
So beautiful and true. Great condensation of ideas here! All writers have been there.

she wondered, in the euphoric haze, if honesty could be a physical thing.
Unique and beautiful theorizing here. In the entire piece, really.

Some of your best work, I think Jenna. Just beautiful!

They say "write what you know". Heh.

Thank you for the lovely feedback, darling, I've always respected your beautiful way with words, and your compliments mean loads to me.

This is very compelling, poignant, wistful and almost painful. Some favourite bits: Her thoughts came in half sentences, half thoughts, that could only be recalled in broken shards of visual memory. All of it could be summed up with one word, her sin had a name; Jack.

She will, for many years to come, associate the smell of rum with slurred assurance...

But she could find no more words, because language, as useful as it is, does not always hold the truth.

Thank you! I was really going for painful, a sense of regret, or something, but not really. Just, you know, the complications that come from sex (you don't see people write that very often, but it's true).

However did I miss this fic?! Because yum, well-written J/E smut.

He moved slow, like poetry, and she wondered, in the euphoric haze, if honesty could be a physical thing.

I love this sentence. Very sexy and more than just physical.

*random extremely late review*

Can I add you? I don't want to miss anymore fic from you.
