So I guess everyone is turning into children for some reason. I was talking to Eve, and she said that once before everyone turned into animals. I've been trying to be rational about all the stuff that's going on here, but I can't come up with any explanation for this other than "it's magic

Of course not! Magic defies all the laws of science. Isn't that the whole point?

Just because something defies the law doesn't make the law meaningless. Besides, even magic could have laws, we just call it magic until someone understands it.

Hmm, that's actually a pretty good point. I guess magic is just another kind of science, if it has its own rules.

The rules of the world seem to run on science, but it also appears that magic does exist.

That's kind of hard to get used to... I'm used to magic being something that's just made up.

People here are from different worlds. Some places exist in the same world, but in different ways. Perhaps that has to do with why magic can exist here.

Sure. I can find stuff with a pendulum if I think about it hard enough, but I'm not that good at it yet.
