I don't know if they do get paid for them -- I'm guessing they don't -- but I am pretty sure we won't be getting any new ones until the strike is resolved.
I want to know, is the strike over or is it still going? My father and I were having a discussion and he was pretty telling me it was over. I'm so confused. :/
The strike is still on going, but the writers and the AMPTP are in talks. The AMPTP revealed it's "awesome" contract negotiation last week, (It offered each writer about $125 for a years worth of free streaming of an episode) and the writers basically said "Uh, no, but we'll sleep on it." So they go back into negotations tomorrow. And here's the options: a) WGA accepts the new contract (unlikely)
b) AMPTP makes better offer (unlikely)
c) the negotiations break, and it's unresolved till they meet again
d) the writers decide to work a few months without contracts, and wait till the SAG contract expires so they can strike together.
B's the best option, but it won't happen. Sadly, I think the writers will decide to strike and wait for the SAG, but we'll see, because they risk the DGA fucking them over.
