Interview with Sendhil in The Onion

You all may have seen this before, but I hadn't: an interview with Sendhil in The Onion's A.V. Club from back in October 2007, right after the second volume of Heroes started airing.  I think my favorite moment comes in the first paragraph, where he's talking about his parents' reaction to his career choice:

"Of course, now that I'm on TV, they don' ( Read more... )

The first time somebody asked me about manga, I thought he said "mango."

Oh Sendhil, ILU more than is healthy.

Oh, yes. And then his comment about who he defers the dorky comic book questions to: "Masi and--actually, just Masi." Hee!

This whole interview made me giggle hysterically. I want to quote the whole thing.

I love that whole interview, his responses were both hilarious and insightful. Sendhil is so cute.

He really seems like he'd be a lot of fun to just sit down and chat with.

One of my favorite interviews, too! I don't remember where (maybe the Parley interview?), but he also later said that his dad calls him from work every week, and he answers all the questions about the show that everyone in the office has. He's so sweeeeet.

I have kind of quit reading the Onion online but I can't believe I didn't at least hear about this interview from someone else! That's one of the reasons why I like this show: everyone on it just seems so dang nice. Especially Sendhil.

Ah, he's fantastic.

Whenever I read about one of these actors pursuing movie roles, I get nervous. *clutches Mohinder*

ETA: Hah! The note on the scripts! "Remember: We are a family, and a family is only as strong as the secrets we keep." They're the Petrellis?

I know what you mean. This show may be "about" special people, but Mohinder's really the heart and soul of it. He does virtually all the voiceovers and the action in both seasons has started with him (yeah, I know the first scene in the first season is Peter, but...it's just Peter being mopey and Emo, the REAL action starts with Mohinder finding out his father is dead). Also, he's arguably one of the best-developed characters on the show and has shown more growth than anyone else. I've said before that losing Sylar permanently would make me likely to quit the show, because he was so fascinating to watch. After this season, though, I'm feeling like Mohinder is so necessary to the action that losing him would definitely make me quit.

They're the Petrellis?
Oh, there are so many things I could say about the Petrelli family "secrets"...

I agree. Mohinder is integral to the plot of the show, the themes of the show, everything. Plus, he's one of my absolute favorite characters, and just the thought of him being written off makes me clutch my head in horror. NOOO MOMO.

why do I think it's extra-hot when he drops the f-bomb in the interview.

Also, I know I shouldn't read comments on un-moderated boards, but some of those posts on the Onion article are mean!

OMG, me too. I think because Sendhil always comes across so cordial and well-behaved, it's nice to know he can get a little saltier when the time comes.

I know what you mean; it's why I don't really bother with the IMDB boards either. I have no problem with opposing viewpoints as long as it's not needlessly nasty, and people have something to say. If all you're going to do is post, "You suck!"...why bother?

why do I think it's extra-hot when he drops the f-bomb in the interview.

Well, to be fair...just about ANYTHING he does is hot. ;0)
