ADMIN: Challenge #1 Eclipse
For our First Challenge, we're writing about eclipses. Since the first episode featured an eclipse, why shouldn't the first flashfic challenge do so as well?
Dictionary.com gives us this definition for eclipse:
eclipse e-clipse noun, verb, e-clipsed, e-clips-ing.
-noun
1. Astronomy. 2. any obscuration of light. 3. a reduction or loss of splendor, status, reputation, etc.: Scandal caused the eclipse of his career. -verb (used with object)
4. to cause to undergo eclipse: The moon eclipsed the sun. 5. to make less outstanding or important by comparison; surpass: a soprano whose singing eclipsed that of her rivals.
As you can see, there are lots of ways to write about an eclipse so don't be shy, anything goes! The challenge will be open one week, with all stories due Monday October 2nd by midnight, pacific time (though if the ADMIN hasn't closed the challenge yet and you've got a fic to submit go ahead and squeak in, no one will mind).
