I love how there are so many different views on abilities in this episode. A gift, a curse, a burden, something that can point to the way and something that needs no explanation (Micah) or is not enough by itself (Monica). Interesting how Sylar, West, Micah, and Mohinder seem to be in accord - that they are gifts and should be used. Of course in Sylar's case he has very bad things in mind, but I still like the comparison. Like Micah and West, he sees these powers as proof that he is special, and he yearns to use them to cause change in the world, like Micah does. Peter still seems to be running from his ( ... )

Yeah ... they wouldn't know it was a woman who killed Ricky, but he knows a woman was investigating him at the docks. Of course, she might have had backup the dock workers didn't know about and *those* people might have killed Ricky, but the woman would have been involved.

That's the best I got. I'm just starting watching it now.

"The kiss that fractured time. "So great. I love Hiro's moral choice, and his weakness. So human.

I love Sylar's speech to Alejandro. As weird as it seems, it show some growth on his part. He is starting to accept that he may not get his powers back, and is looking on the bright side. And the acting there. Saying such threatening things with such an innocent look.

Im confused as to the whole point of Noahs mission to Russia.

You really shouldn't betray someone like Kensei. So new to being good, it's no wonder he went back to being bad so fast. Especially after being betrayed by the man who was his hero coach. There's really no coming back after that.

"Looks like the town could use some amazing" Oh, Bob, you do sincere so crappily.

Seriously, is that Niki or Jessica? I think it's Jessica. I think Bob has brain washed her or something.

"Extraordinary" = unusual, not ordinary
"Extra ordinary" = more ordinary than most.

Interesting - I'd never seen the entire part that came before the title sequence here. So that Monica workout, Peter and Caitlin discussing going to Montreal, Ivan's intro - all new to me.

Speaking of which, Caitlin seems awful composed for someone who found her brother, her only remaining family member, scorched to cinders just a few hours? earlier.

Huh, actually I'm 15 minutes into the show and I have yet to see footage I've ever seen before. Awesome! It's like a whole new episode! Yay!

Oh, and "management training in Tulsa"! I work in Tulsa. Cool.

There's a photograph on Ivan's mantel that Noah takes a good, long look at. I assume the guy in the middle is Ivan, but who are the others?

Why are they taking Monica's ability? Seriously, is it that hard to find someone with an ability that you'd like to take away? Can't you just fish out one of those assholes from Level 5 and test the shots on them?

OMFG! I'd never seen the "death from above" scene by West either! Jeez! That would scare the piss out of me if I were that gal.

OMG, I wince to see a sword turned against iron links. A) it don't work, and B) it will ruin the sword. Couldn't they think of some other solution?

I love Ando's flabbergasted expression.

Oh, and I still haven't seen any footage I've ever seen before. I must have missed this whole episode! Yay for rewatch!

"Can't you just fish out one of those assholes from Level 5 and test the shots on them?"

Such a good point. I thought it might be a test of Mohinder's loyalty.

I had the same thought about the sword and chain.

Tell me West is not a psycho?!

West might or might not be a psycho. In my opinion, tough to tell when dealing with teenagers. Sometimes, they do things quickly without thinking them through, because it sounds cool. Consequences and repercussions are not their strong suit. (There's been some brain development studies that show this too - something that's been known a long time, which is why juveniles aren't held to the same legal standard as adults.)

But what he did, and so casually, is pretty psycho.

Good point about teenagers, but still. Did you catch that line about being able to fly making parental rules and opinions a non issue?

Oh my ... Alejandro vs. Gabriel! Awesome! I notice also that Gabriel is a SHITTY fighter! They're just sort of scuffling around, shoving at each other and flailing. That's hilarious! I am *so* going to have to point this out to Meanie. She and I had made a fair number of speculations about Sylar's hand-to-hand, no-abilities fighting skills. He's lousy. We have several canon examples of Peter decking people sans abilities, but other than that scene at Mercy (where Sylar was a much better combatant than he is here), Sylar always used abilities in combat. Well, there was that one with Noah in the warehouse with the box cutter ... guess I could rewatch that too. Hm ( ... )

Even in that scene in the hospital, Sylar looks like an amateur fighter because of his stance. I agree that he is a crappy fighter which fits with his profile is he was a nerd before.

That is so not Niki.

Im tickled that you just watched a new to you episode!
