Yeah. I don't think it's so much a split-personality as much as she just snapped. Freak out enough, and you break the limits on your power.

Anodites are alien energy beings--practically immortal and extremely powerful. Our grandmother was one, and Gwen inherited her power. But actually mastering that power takes about seventy-five years and it means losing your humanity.

I just thought she was magic I didn't know it was an alien thing...that's a whole different side of the coin for my experience. See for magic stuff I defer to Raven but for Alien stuff I ask Starfire.

Yeah, it's complicated and we barely understand it ourselves. About the only one who does is Grandma, and we didn't exactly see eye-to-eye the last time.
