Nexus: Anna, Part whatever

Aug 07, 2007 22:23

Clark's been back at Oliver's place for a while now, having taken care of everything he needed to back in Smallville. He's not completely surprised that Anna isn't here (although a note would have been nice) so he's occupied himself unpacking a few new groceries and making an important phone call.

He and Anna have a few things to talk about.

He smiles at her fondly and rests an arm loosely around her waist.

"So. I have something to ask you."

"Good, because I kind of like not having to keep things from you." He tilts her chin up a little. "And I'm sorry."

"I like it, too," says Anna softly. "The not keeping things from each other thing."

She flashes a quick smile.

"Don't worry about it. Apology accepted." With a kiss on the cheek, which is how all proper apology acceptances go, of course.

"Yeah, it works better this way," he nods and briefly smiles at the kiss before turning to start cleaning up the dishes.

And of course, Anna helps. They are her dishes, after all. (Ain't that a thought.)

Of course, and it doesn't take long to wash up two plates, a fork, and a couple of spoons. Afterward, he gives Anna another smile.

"So, anything in particular you wanted to do tonight?"

"I am open to suggestions," she says with a laugh. "I'd say a quiet night in, but a quiet night in requires some form of furniture for optimal lounging purposes, and I don't have any of that."

"Well, we could sit on the floor," he suggests. "Otherwise, you're pretty much talking to a guy who spends most of his free time in a barn. Exciting nights out aren't exactly my strong suit."

"Your barn has a couch," Anna notes. "Meaning at the moment it's one up on my apartment."

"Ah, but your apartment contains no farm animals or machinery. I think that earns you bonus points."

"Ah, but we don't have to sit on the farm animals or the machinery," she counters. "Whereas here seating options are limited to piles of books and the aforementioned floor. The bedroom carpet's kinda comfy, actually, but still. Hardly the most enticing of prospects."

"You don't have a mattress or anything?" Clark frowns and walks over to poke his head into the bedroom. "What are you going to sleep on?"

"Floor, of course." Anna grins. "It's not that bad, honestly."

He gives her a mildly exasperated look. "When's your first day off?"

"Um, this Thursday. Why?"

hero_farmboy August 9 2007, 04:11:40 UTC
"Because we're going out to get you furniture, that's why," he explains firmly. "You're not sleeping on the floor forever."
