Nexus: Anna, Part whatever

Clark's been back at Oliver's place for a while now, having taken care of everything he needed to back in Smallville. He's not completely surprised that Anna isn't here (although a note would have been nice) so he's occupied himself unpacking a few new groceries and making an important phone call.

He and Anna have a few things to talk about.

"Aha," he says a moment later, having located the utensils. "And thank you for not expecting me to use chopsticks."

[hero_farmboy]

Clark is just going to pride himself on the fact that he's finished first, and therefore, gets first dibs on second helpings.

[downsidedarling]

Harrumph.

Anna giggles, downs one last unidentified vegetable, and starts serving herself seconds.

Naturally, Clark made sure there was plenty of everything left for Anna, should she want it. When he's completely done, he sets his dishes in the sink and leans against the counter.

[downsidedarling]

Naturally.

It doesn't take long for Anna to finish up Round Two, whereupon her dishes join Clark's in the sink and she moves over to give him a hug. It's been too long, after all. A whole ten minutes.

He smiles at her fondly and rests an arm loosely around her waist.

"So. I have something to ask you."

[downsidedarling]

She grins up at, snuggles into, and generally expresses affection towards him.

"Yes?"

[hero_farmboy]

"Okay," Clark takes a deep breath. "Oliver's back next week and he's having some charity event thing. Party. Whatever. Anyway, my mom was supposed to go because well, she's part of that society now being Senator and all but she can't because she has a conference and she sort of wants me to go instead. Interested?"

[downsidedarling]

"Of course!" Anna brightens. "Do I get to dress up all fancy? Will there be dancing?" Self-deprecating grin. "Am I being way too much of a girl for you?"

[hero_farmboy]

"Yes, yes and," he pauses to smile, "yes, but I was expecting it."

[downsidedarling]

"Well in that case, mon cher, you officially have a date to Oliver's party." Giggling, she kisses him on the cheek.

[hero_farmboy]

"Well, I can't say I'm surprised. I figured it'd be something you'd like."

[downsidedarling]

"Mmm." It's simultaneously a noise of vague agreement and one of delighted snuggling. Funny how that works.

[hero_farmboy]

Indeed.

"I'm sorry to bring it up without a lot of time in advance but mom just sprung it on me this morning. A week should be fine, though, right?"

[downsidedarling]

"Oui. A week's plenty." Clark gets yet another in a series of grins, and yet another in a series of kisses. "Thanks for inviting me, cheri."

[hero_farmboy]

There's a slight hesitation.

"Well, when my mom finally badgered me enough that I said I'd go period, I was going to ask Chloe first, figuring she'd be able to get a story out of it since I'm really not going to be a lot of fun." That's part a warning for Anna. "But Oliver'd thought of that, so she's already going."
