He drops a light kiss on her forehead, hopefully careful enough not to wake her. Clark won't do that until he absolutely has to to get out of bed himself. But there's a little time before that, yet.
Nonsensical mumbling (anyone in the vicinity with a good pair of ears will hear something about how the lemonlopes must be rescued) corroborates that theory nicely.
It's still pretty early - he doesn't have to get up quite yet - and so he just lies there, stroking his hand lightly along her arm.
She's awfully cute when she's asleep. And this isn't the first time he's thought that.
