Now I get it!

Keith and his crew want to be the ONLY critics. The reason is that there are so many people with a bone to pick that they don't want the spotlight taken off of them. This is why they even criticize people who agree with them.

I guess if I had read more Nietzsche or [insert the name of book Keith happens to be currently reading here] I would have realized the desire for recognition and desperate grab for attention a lot sooner.

They want to be famous. :)

John Crow has never believed in freedom of speech. He has a history of suppressing speech he disapproves of, or considers too confrontational, and, in fact, thinks the OTO should be even more oppressive than it is now.
I once saw him get David Scriven to bully the owner of an e-list into handing over said list to Crow, who then shut it down, because some list members where being critical of Order policy.

Seeing Crow kicked out the way he was had a kind EC Comics sense of justice to it, the bad guy suffering the same fate he had foisted upon others.

If you really want to restore OTO, you'd be better off without Crow's "help".
