I fell asleep the first time I went to bed last night (c. 2:15). And I woke up at a civil hour (c. 8:30). (Which gives one so much more time in one's day off

I haven't been in years -- since really it makes much more sense to watch them on tv.anything on our old, horrid, renders-everything-green-tv, especially things with large visual components, but even still I've never thought watching fireworks on TV was quite as impressive as watching them in person. Not that I've actually been to fireworks for four years, so.
They are more impressive in person, but on tv you can see them without crowding and craning your neck. Plus, on tv you can actually hear the Boston Pops, which you really can't if you're on the bridge (and you have to get there mad early to actually be on the Esplanade).
How many Fireworks commentfic did you write? I saw at least three . . . I need to go through all of that later. I think I drew the one and only picture.
I had a few bunnies I couldn't manage to make work, but I managed to actually get written everything that I wanted to, which made me really happy. I still don't understand how I wrote so much as I've been saying for over a year now (since I stopped doing ficathons) that I'm no longer in a space where I do well with other people's prompts. Can't say I'm complaining, though. At least one of my ficlets I think is very mediocre, but I'm quite pleased with them for the most part.
Okay, I do remember "Mail Myself to You" from my childhood, but couldn't have told you who sang it (and if pressed probably would have guessed Raffi or something). Can't say I've heard of Sarah Pirtle either.
I didn't go to the Fireworks. Emma would have been terrified. As it was, the distant popping and booming kept her up way past her bedtime. But I do love to watch them too.

Oh, I had his first kid's album, "Mail Myself To You." It was probably my favorite music when I was little. Well, next to Sarah Pirtle.
