I miss Emma. It sort of hit at one point yesterday afternoon that she's out of the country, and, ow. (Though yes, I know, we mostly communicate via e-mail anyway

I adore Imzadi. Squeeeeeeeeeeee! Someone else to talk Star Trek with. Did Peter David write that one? He's my favorite Star Trek writer.
Over the holidays, I re-read Dwellers in the Crucible, Uhura's Song, and The Vulcan Academy Murders, all based on the original series and written in the early eighties I believe. I picked up Dwellers because I remembered it being the "sexy" one when I was younger, but I was struck at this reading by how much of a beautiful love story it is. It's a rather elaborate way of exploring Spock/Kirk's relationship by using another couple, a human female and a Vulcan female. Excellent read. Uhurah's song was also very, very good. Has a really fun OC and is full of suspense and humor. Murders was pretty formulaic and yawny.
Yup, Imzadi is by Peter David. (An early version of the post had a full citation for that line 'cause I am uber-dork.) The recommendation was in the context of a conversation about Lwaxana, so I was disappointed insomuch as I was expecting more of a focus on Lwaxana, but it's an interesting look at early Riker (and early Deanna) and how in the heck such a mismatched pair ended up together.
I grew up watching TNG and watched it all on DVD from start to finish two summers ago. I've seen only snippets of original series episodes, though I've been meaning to watch all the movies (I've seen the whale one a couple times, but that's it for TOS movies, though I've seen all the TNG movies). I watched Voyager when it started but come later seasons the airtimes conflicted with Orchestra rehearsals, so I watched less regularly -- though I did see the series finale, and I want to eventually watch the whole series from start to finish. I've never seen Enterprise and never intend to. I've heard good things about DS9 and hope to watch it from

Well, if it's Lwaxana fic you're wanting, you should read Q In-Law also by Peter David. Lwaxana and Q begin a romance; it's very, very funny and at times poignant. Some of Peter DAvid's others that I enjoyed thoroughly were Vendetta which is Guinan-centric (a fair amount about Picard in there, too, I believe) and Q-squared. I don't remember much about that last except that it is, as is characteristic of PD, laugh out loud funny.

I'm not usually all that interested in Lwaxana, but a commenter on a discussion had said Imzadi gave great Lwaxana backstory, so I was intrigued.
I adore Guinan, so I'll definitely have to check out Vendetta, and of course I love Q and I'm intrigued by the idea of Lwaxana/Q so I'll have to check out the other ones you mentioned as well.
