Last meeting of Skarda's class was a house party per usual.  I kept feeling like there should be alcohol because last time i was there was the Christmas party at the end of Romantics class.  And then lo there was orange grapefruit compote with triple sec.  Which of course i didn't eat, 'cause hello grapefruit, but still ( Read more... )

Nancy Bradbury's "Literature, Folklore and Fakelore" seminar actually. Though i took "Fairy Tales and Gender" last spring (concurrent with "From Grimms to Disney: Germanic Fairy Tales & U.S. Popular Culture" at UMass -- that was a great semester) and loved it. I saw Burning Your Boats: The Collected Short Stories (Angela Carter) at my local library back when i was in high school and read it and loved it and have really enjoyed getting to read her for classes and talk about it with people.
