Field Goal v. Touchdown

P.S. What is this shit that winning a Super Bowl with a field goal instead of a touchdown is poor form or something?
I don't know if that was true years ago but it certainly is not true now.
In fact, the following has become more and more common: It's getting near the end of the game and you are tied or behind by less than three points (a successful field goal gets you 3 points). When you get the ball, you deliberately don't try for a touchdown. Instead, you try to get the ball as close to the goal line as possible while using up almost all of the time. When there are only a few seconds left, you call time. Your kicker comes in and since good kickers rarely miss from in close, kicks the winning field goal as time expires.
If you had gone for the touchdown, you might well not have gotten it. And even if you had gotten it, there would almost certainly be time left for the other team to try to score.
"Clock management" is considered an important skill of coaches and quarterbacks.

Oh, i know it's legal, and it made perfect sense to me, but i saw a number of posts along the following lines:
"I feel that if a team wins the Superbowl because of a field goal, they should be allowed to accept the Vince Lombardi trophy, but they have to attend the presentation wearing dresses." -dherblay

Well, I won't speculate as to my own machismo, but my favorite movies do include Some Like It Hot and Lawrence of Arabia, so draw from that what you may . . .

Darn tootin. They're a private entity and can do whatever the hell they want (within reason, of course, and this is well within reason).

Or a very macho guy.
Or someone who just likes ripped male bodies in tight, slinky ....
The 2004 Patriots would be the third group of guys to have to be so dressed.
