A busy, yet boring, week.

So i thought i wasn't going to be busy this week, and then i was. I was out for much of Monday (doing things which included visiting the high school and junior high for the last time this school year and finally getting a new battery for my watch) and when i came home i had 2 messages waiting for me. I have a friend who quotes a particular passage of the Bible to justify his belief that some passages can be taken as truth and others discounted as inaccurate for any one of several reasons. I can't remember the exact passage -- I'd have to ask him -- but it has something to do with Jesus saying that his true followers will know his voice. It feels like an easy way out sometimes, but basically (and I think maybe I agree) he sees it as saying that you can read the Bible and believe only the things that you can bring yourself to believe and consider what you actually think God is trying to say.

(Um, yes, somewhat random, I realize, but I thought of that.)

Always love extra long entries that have to do with everything in the world and almost nothing at the same time. Um, yes. ;)

Hey, just stumbld in here, so more than likely you have no clue who I am. Anyways, I couldn't help but notice your interest in the Bible and homosexuality... I did some research on that in the past and found this website, which details how a family used religion as a basis for accepting their gay son. I thought it might be helpful... or intriguing, at least? Well, what you will.

Hey, random comments are all good. I do it all the time. (Though i think i recognize your username from the buffy_icons community.) I'll have to check out the website. I've been doing a lot of research on the issue for a while. For a scholarship essay my senior year, i wrote a long paper arguing for same-sex marriage, having already gotten interested in the issue of the Bible and homosexuality. I have continued to be interested in both topics and am still working on essays. Yes, i am a huge geek.

Yay for Eddie Izzard. I've seen some of his stuff. it's hillarious! It's great to know where the quote came from.

also, have you seen Mel Brooks' "Silent Movie"? It's soo funny! I have a copy of it. Maybe when you get back to school we can watch it together. Sound good??

LOL.

Yeah, i thought you'd be happy to know where the quote came from. And extra cool that you know of Eddie Izzard's stuff. I'd heard of him but am not familiar with any of his stuff.

No, i have not seen Mel Brooks's Silent Movie. We should indeed watch it sometime when i get back to NoHo.
