[LJ kept refusing to let the update go through last night, so, posting this morning.]

Sun. Dec. 30, 2012As it turned out, the blacktop of College Ave. was well-cleared, so I actually could have biked to church -- avoiding the whole "walking in the street" issue as the sidewalks were only intermittently cleared until about midway into Tufts campus

You could look it up, but I'm pretty sure Julian lived in a cell built into the monastery wall -- so she was separate from the monks. And villagers would visit her for advice .... so I've always thought of it as ground level.
