Wed. Dec. 29: beginning ~8pmHaving learned that a Bible Edition of Apples to Apples exists, I had to get myself a copy.  I make no promises about the game itself (this will be the first time I play it), but I can promise the presence of myself and my bff and an Internet and a host of books, so good times should be ( Read more... )

For ages I heard people touting Apples to Apples as THE BEST GAME EVER, and I was skeptical (as is my wont), but then I actually played it, and lo I was converted.

If the Bible Edition is problematic, I know who will fix it!

:D

I was literally thinking earlier that hey, at work we have these pre-punched ~index cards (Avery 5388) and so maybe I would take some home (I have like 6 sheets just sitting around after the last project we did) so we could make additional "blank" cards if necessary -- which of course then led to the thought that it really is moderately feasible to make one's own v. DIY Apples to Apples game (a la TLGN's insistence that a fannish edition needs to exist).

Ooooh, those pre-punched cards would be so shiny! (In the figurative/fannish sense. Literally, they would be matte). I was just thinking about brainstorming some good red cards for a fannish edition during my lunch break today.

Including that I heart your attention/commitment to accurate language :)

Sadly, the pre-punched cards don't come in colors (just white), so one is stuck with the more labor-intensive route of measuring out the lines on the pre-punched and then use a papercutter on red and green cardstock printouts.

Yes, I am thisclose to pricing out how much it would cost to purchase sufficient red and green cardstock to make as many cards as are in the standards Apples to Apples game, to figure out how much we would need to charge in order to make back costs (cost of shipping would be added on per item).

Edit: And wow, I *just* "got" why you chose that icon for your reply. /slow
