Even though this one had a couple of Joss-like lines, the setup still bothers me to the point of turning me off from watching the show. Let me know when Echo gets agency?
I agree with you about the specialness. That stand-in argument's invalid because she's all special, period. Because of Alpha, because of the tape and the dead people and Ballard getting the clues, because of her being suddenly kickass athletically...she stands out amidst the fucked-upedness of the Dollhouse situation as is.
By the way, something you didn't comment on: Dominic says something about 'putting her in the Attic' (I had CC on because it was noisy in here). Add that to the creepy bizarre shit.
Yeah, Dominic says something like, "If I had my way, I'd put you in the attic, or the ground," which is so wtf on so many levels. It's bizarre that she is completely non-reactive (not even confused); plus, what is his problem? I could see him thinking of the Dolls as non-human and not having any stake in them besides the preservation of the business, but what's up with the malice? On reflection, I guess it'll end up having something to do with the Alpha situation, but still
( ... )
I can understand there being loose ends, that being the point of the show, but there are really just too many of them here, I concur. Bleh. More like plot holes than loose ends.
It's sounding a lot like LOST, which I don't watch for a reason.
