I forgot that getting to the gym earlier than I usually do means it's full 'cause of all the students gymming before their 8:30/8:40 classes, so I did the treadmill (30min @ 5mph, plus 5min-cooldown at 4mph).  I did not die -- or even feel particularly close to doing so -- so thumbs up for that.

It literally completely destroyed the society. (Not Communism itself but how Communism was interpreted by Mao and the particular societal way of thinking that made Mao's interpretation of Communism make sense in China at that time. Of course it is much more complicated than that. But that gets into WW1 and WW2 fun as well as Manchuria, yeah, anyway.) Not that the society that was there before Communism was all cakes and fluffy bunnies but genocide (or mass slaughter, whatever) as a general rule is not good ( ... )

Soon I will read both articles. They both look interesting. But my main objection to that poster was that the clothing was not period-style enough to be realistic. Women didn't have sleaveless dresses then gawdammit. Seriously. Not cool with the clothing. Also, Henry the 8th was a fucking misogynist, womanizing bastard. What in the hell is wrong with portraying him that way in the picture? Also, it is TV. The only time TV doesn't do pretty is if they are making a political statement about women's image in the US which is partly TV's fault in the first place or if they are doing a TV monster.
