So, I may sound like a random nut, but I saw one of your posts in one of the psych communities. The reason I decided to add you was well...we have a bit in common. I'll list it for you:
-Psych major (no minor. it was going to be philosophy, but I took too many psych classes..haha). -Graduating Spring 2007 -High GPA (not fantastic, but it is a 3.82) -Both wanting to get into clinical phd. programs -both Psi Chi presidents of our respective schools -prepping for the GREs (general and psych GRE) -notorious Harry Potter nerd on campus (well, that's me...i'm guessing you have some HP fandom by your username and journal)
So, I added you as a way to network between Psi Chi chapters and at least have a fellow person to share the struggles and craziness that we'll have this next year. My LJ is definitely more casual and probably has some nonsense entries that you could care less for reading, but I thought I could at least add you.
Sorry for the long post. You asked for my reasoning, and you got it. :D
I added you. Feel free to look at my profile and decide whether you want to add me back or not. My LJ isn't terribly exciting.
I'm a clinical psychology graduate student and my areas of research are atypical depression and alternate nosologies of depression, and the relationship between bipolar I and borderline personality disorder. (There is some interesting research suggesting they should be reconceptualized together as a spectrum disorder.)
Oh yeah, and if we want to get really esoteric and nerdy, I'm interested in the dexamethasons suppression test (DST) for endogenous depression.
Hi. I read your latest post in applyingtograd. I'd like to add you because I'm interested in reading posts about someone else's grad school application process, and anxieties about it, etc. My profile has a rather detailed list of what my interests are so feel free to check it before you consider adding me.
