Friends Only

Feb 09, 2007 19:20

There are few people whom I really love, and still fewer of whom I think well. The more I see of the world, the more I am dissatisfied with it; and everyday confirms my belief of the inconsistency of all human characters, and of the little dependence that can be placed on the appearance of either merit or sense.

I just wanted to stop in and say thanks for having a brain - I've gotten all kinds of rude messages about my response to the reincarnation thing, telling me I "take life too seriously." Idiots.

Not a problem. I wrote my response (See below) before I saw yours, and we said pretty much the same thing.

Ok, this really kind of bothers me. Even those that do believe in reincarnation don't "remember" their previous lives, and suggestion that you must know the previous life if you believe there was one is... idiotic and shows a complete lack of understanding (if not outright mockery) of the subject.

I wonder who comes up with those questions? Usually they're a tiny bit more thought out.

Would you be willing to friend me on a trial basis? I think your entries on customers_suck are interesting and you sound like a good person to know, but that doesn't necessarily mean we'd be good friends.

Hi.

caitlinchris from ravelry.

My LJ is friends-only too so I figured I'd add you first so you can figure out whether you want to add me back.

You don't have to, of course.

I'm only replying in case you want a comment =D

"Why not"?

Because I know some people are all "I added you! You have to add me back!" to which I'm usually all "f-off"

=D

Yes well. Some people are desperate to look like they have a lot of friends.

I.e., love many, trust few, paddle your own canoe.

This is a book quote, but yours also works.
