I forgot to mention that! When I first heard about the episode, I was like, "Maybe they'll mention his earlobe?" Since the episode showed him in the last few months of his life, I think it probably happened before that. They might've wanted to save money on prosthetic ears and makeup, among other things...

Or maybe they just wanted to miss horrible self mutilation out of a family show? Hahaha.

That might've been it, yeah... ;)

I was amazed that they found an actor who could end up resembling Van Gogh's self-portrait (DW either has the best casting director or the best makeup artist in the world).
Seriously, Tony Curran looked SO MUCH like him, it was great! Also great: he looked quite a bit like CE too.

I do kind of wish she'd had a little more development in the episode, though. Mostly she just flirted and gathered sunflowers.
Yeah, Amy really didn't have all that much to do this time around, but she looked so adorable and lovely sitting among the sunflowers I really didn't mind. And she had wonderful chemistry with Vincent.

I loved when the three of them lay on the ground holding hands and the sky transformed into "Starry Night." I know that a bunch of people will probably rant about how cheesy it was. I. DON'T. CARE. I thought it was sweet and beautiful.SAME. Screw the haters! It's not all running after/from dangerous aliens and saving the world OMG, okay? Sometimes it's about sitting back and marveling at how freaking gorgeous the universe ( ... )

It freaked me out, but in the best way possible. I didn't see a ton of CE resemblance, but maybe just a bit. I'll have to watch it again.

Yes, I can go with that. The reviewer on Television Without Pity said (for another episode) that her personality is nothing more than "Scots Ginger," but she's just so darn cute that I don't care. Then again, it's TWOP.

SAME. Screw the haters! It's not all running after/from dangerous aliens and saving the world OMG, okay? Sometimes it's about sitting back and marveling at how freaking gorgeous the universe is.
YES. I think that part resonated with me because I'm a very visual person and I'm very drawn to color. Interestingly, I think male fans tend to complain about that sort of thing more than female fans. Huh.

Lucky! His use of color alone is just so emotionally evocative. I cannot understand why anyone would deem that childish.
