Dancing with the Stars, Analyzing with the Bard.

I've been following Dancing with the Stars this season, mostly because I heard Evan Lysacek was going to be on it, but I was surprised that I'm enjoying the other celebrities, too.  Even though TWOP is really cynical about how "celebrity" they really are.

Opinions and mild gushing about the various celebrities. )

tv, castle, inglourious basterds, shakespeare, hugo stiglitz, nathan fillion, celebrities, reality shows

Aw, I love The Tempest. I wrote about it for...something, admissions essay or AP exam or something, I don't even remember. And now I feel old. But yeah, King Lear is meh. Not the most meh Shakespeare play I've read (that would be Measure for Measure, good god, why, Will?).

I'm not too sure how I felt about tonight's Castle. It didn't make me feel as happy as last weeks, but I wasn't paying that close attention to it and am mostly half-asleep, so. Maybe not in the right mood.

Eh, I just can't really sympathize with any of the characters in The Tempest, except for Caliban. Also, Antonio and Sebastian never got punishment for their scheming. That's the only Shakespeare comedy I've read (though we'll be reading Pericles, a lesser known comedy/romance, in a couple of weeks), but I've seen a production of Much Ado About Nothing (or in my sister JoJo's words, "What To Do About Nothing?"), and I think Shakespeare's tragedies are more profound and generally better than his comedies (which apparently end sloppily).

Yeah, maybe. I thought the guest stars were great, but the plot just kind of lept from one possible lead to the next until they finally got to the perpetrator, who seemed kind of obvious to me (but I think I've seen too many procedurals). It was still enjoyable, though.

Did you know there's an audio production of A Comedy of Errors with David Tennant as Antipholus of Ephesus? I always enjoy listening to his love ode to Luciana...that man has got an incredible voice. Yow.

And LOL Nathan Fillion will never be a father figure to me. I don't watch Castle (I know, blasphemy! But as much as I like NF, I'm just not a big fan of the plots) but he's just so...so... Yeah. So Nathan Fillion. :D

Um, okay. Like I said above, I really like the majority of the pairs (except for the Evil Kate Gosselin). Do you and the poster above know each other? You have really similar usernames.
