I picture her with more waves than curls, but she would be the cutest 5-year-old ever. Like Ramona Quimby meet Hermione Granger.

I don't know, it's in the public domain, and stories can be rewritten...

Yeah, Kat Dennings does have more waves than anything, but from experience, naturally wavy hair + little girl makes for more tangles than anything. Probably same with curls, though.

Oh, yes, my hair is prone to waves and curls (depending on the humidity and availability of hair-dryers), and tangles are a frequent hair-care menace. In the story, Thor braids her hair a lot. You know, the small, intricate, decorative kind.

And I just remembered, Cassandra has lots of frizzy curls in this story. Helen's hair, however, does not know the meaning of frizz or tangles. ;)
