Sorry I'm not a sports person so I don't understand that reference, but I LOVE all these Supernatural and Doctor Who gifs. Especially the last one of Nine dancing, I could just watch him all day.
I'm glad you enjoyed the gifs! Nine's dancing is hypnotic! And so are Dean's high kicks. :DDD
As simplified as I can make baseball playoffs:
In baseball in the U.S., there are two leagues: the National League and the American League. After one round of playoffs between the top four teams in each of the leagues, the two remaining teams go on to that league's pennant series (best of seven games). Whoever wins that goes on to the World Series (best of seven again) against the remaining team in the other league.
This whole thing is a big deal for my team, the St. Louis Cardinals, because back in August and early September, we looked like we didn't have a snowball's chance in hell of getting to the first round of the playoffs, but we did, and beat the Philadelphia Phillies, who are considered the "best team in baseball" this year.
...Oh God, baseball is complicated. Sorry for the tangent.
Ok, thanks for the explanation. Sports in general is complicated for me. And baseball was pretty complicated, from my vague fuzzy memories of high-school PE.
I sometimes wish I could get into the whole big deal about sports so there would be a fandom that I wouldn't feel awkward about bringing up into random daily conversation with teachers and other people. And then I would probably keep quiet about the RPF pieces I favorited kekekeke.
Sorry, I'm not ranting against sports, I just wish for once, a professor/TA of mine would go, "That Supernatural episode last week was excellent!", instead of going on about their favorite football/baseball/whatever teams, and then the other students would chime in with their favorite teams.
I'M SORRY, I DON'T WANT TO HARSH YOUR SQUEE. HAVE A SPORTS GIF! (Matt Smith is putting on a jersey thing for soccer, is that close enough? orz)
( ... )
Oh, man, I never got back to this! Oops! Yeah, I've only really gotten into baseball in the past couple of years, and I'll never understand the statistical side of it.
It's okay. This is really the only sport that I get (except tennis, thanks to my mom, and that's not really mainstream). Figure skating and tennis actually have fandoms, so if either of those interest you, you might want to check them out, I guess.
Yes, that would be awesome. The only thing I've ever had that was close to that was a professor who was a Joss Whedon fan and another professor who's a major film nerd and mocked me in class because I confided that I got obsessed with the Thor trailer.
It's cool! Gif totally accepted! Matt Smith in any capacity is wonderful!
